About

I joined the Centre for Environmental and Marine Sciences at the University of Hull in September 2009 from Newcastle University where I obtained his PhD and spent six years as a post-doctoral researcher. My research to date has traversed a range of disciplines and scales, from catchment-scale hydrological processes to aquatic geochemistry through to laboratory-based development of novel remedial tools for inorganic pollutants.  My main current research interests are:
- Characterization and remediation of hyperalkaine industrial drainage (e.g. steel slag, lime works and red mud leachate)
- Monitoring and remediation of pollutants from abandoned mines
