About
My research interests lie in understanding and adding theoretically informed interdisciplinarity to the study of the gendered processes of globalisation, governance, securitisation as they related to ‘irregular’ migration from the developing world into EU territory. Specifically, I focus on the juridico-political production of knowledge about 'irregular' migrants, including female ‘victims’ of human trafficking and transborder sex work. Of particular interest is how immigration law and social policy have become key avenues for nation-building and state formation in contemporary Europe. Recent work focuses on interrogating notions of human vulnerability in sex trafficking.
