About

I completed my Ph.D. on "The Feminist Politics of Neo-Victorian Fiction, 2000-2010" at the Unviersity of Hull with an 80th Anniversary Doctoral Scholarship and under the supervision of Prof. Ann Heilmann.

I am now an Honorary Research Associate at Hull and am currently transforming my thesis into a book (under review with Palgrave Macmillan) whilst also working on my post-doctoral project, "The Widow in British Literature and Culture, 1850-2010".

My research interests fall into the following broad areas: feminist theory and practice; neo-Victorianism; gender and sexuality in Victorian literature and culture; and women's writing. I have published journal articles and chapters in edited collections in these areas (please see "Papers" section). I have lead-edited a special issue of the Journal of Gender Studies on "Feminisms, Sex and the Body" and am co-editor of a Routledge Major Works anthology on "Women and Belief, 1852-1928" (with Jessica Cox and Mark Llewellyn). I act as an external peer-reviewer for the Journal of Gender and for Transgressive Culture, and I am a member of the executive committee of the Feminist & Women's Studies Association (FWSA UK & Ireland).

For regular updates on events, publications in my areas of interest as well as for news, opinions and research on early-career and postgraduate experiences in academia and higher education, please follow me on Twitter via @Nadine_Muller.

I look forward to hearing from you!
